NewsWoW Forever release: less than 24 hours until launch on November 4

The WoW Forever release is less than 24 hours away. World of Warcraft: Forever goes live worldwide on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. PST (23:00 UTC), which is already Thursday, November 5, in most of Europe, Asia and Australia. The beta is over, name reservation has closed, and Blizzard has shipped one last round of changes: damage was raised across every class, creatures at higher levels got more health to match, talent trees were reshuffled, and several racials were reworked.

This article sums up the last day before launch: the launch time in every region, a live countdown, what the final pre-launch build changed for each class, and how those changes moved the WoW Forever spec rankings in our simulator. We re-ran every spec with the new talents and racials, and updated our class guides, stat priorities, talent calculator and sims. At the end there is a checklist for your last few hours, with links to every tool on the site.

WoW Forever release: the short version

  • WoW Forever release date: November 4, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. PST - one worldwide launch, not a rolling one.
  • What you need: an active World of Warcraft subscription or Game Time. The Skyborne race and its Zephras Isle start need the Skyborne Heroic Pack or a higher edition - see our price and editions guide.
  • The final build: Blizzard's development notes, updated November 2, raise damage for every class, add new talents for all nine classes, remove a few others and rework the racials.
  • Our sims: re-run on November 3 with the new build. Arcane Mage is still first in level 60 raid gear, but Affliction Warlock and Beast Mastery Hunter are now within 16 DPS of it.
  • What's next: the first raids - Barrow Deeps, Hyjal Summit and Onyxia's Lair - open on December 9.

WoW Forever launch time in every region

For everything else about the launch itself - pre-downloading, platforms, the first-login presets, rulesets and the roadmap after release - see our WoW Forever release date guide and the launch time in every region article. Before you install, check the WoW Forever system requirements: some older graphics cards are no longer supported.

What the final pre-launch build changed

Blizzard's beta development notes, updated on November 2, cover everything that changed since the last full beta update on October 15. In those notes, Blizzard says that holding every class to Classic's power budgets meant each new feature had to come at the cost of something else, and that some iconic abilities felt lackluster as a result. So damage went up for every class, and creatures at higher levels got more health. The developers add:

Our aim in class design is not perfect numerical equality, but rather for every class to feel valuable to the groups they join, with powerful, unforgettable moments brought on by mastering them.— Blizzard, WoW Forever beta development notes

The notes also say that, apart from bugs and serious outliers, there won't be big tuning changes before the raids open next month. A large tuning pass is planned later, once there is data from players past level 30. For players, a few general changes stand out:

  • No more low-rank penalty on talent procs - except for Blizzard, which still triggers Arcane Concentration, Frostbite and Fingers of Frost less often when you cast a rank learned more than 12 levels below your level.
  • Every race now has the correct base stats. For example, a Tauren Warrior now starts with 5 more Strength than a Human Warrior (it was 2).
  • Training costs were evened out: training every class ability from 1 to 60 now costs between 206 and 207 gold for every class, and Warlocks pay less to cover their pet Grimoires.
  • New spells no longer go on your action bars automatically, and roots from procs (Frostbite, Entrapment, Improved Wing Clip, Counterattack, Improved Hamstring) now have diminishing returns.

The class changes, class by class

The notes list changes for every class. Here are the ones that change how each spec plays and how much it does. We've already put all of them into our engines - the class guide linked under each class has the updated rotation, key talents and stat priority, and the WoW Forever talent calculator has the new trees for every class.

Mage

Arcane got a careful nerf. Arcane Blast's cost now rises 100% per stack (was 175%), each stack gives 12% of your Intellect as spell damage (was 15%), and the buff lasts 18 seconds. Arcane Focus is gone and folded into Precision in the Frost tree, a 3-point talent worth 2/4/6% hit with all spells. Missile Barrage moved to row 2 and no longer uses up Clearcasting. Fire's Critical Mass is back to 3 ranks (6% crit), Incineration goes to 5 ranks (10%), and Improved Fireball is now Accelerant, which also speeds up Arcane Wrath. Frost lost Piercing Ice and Frost Blast, but Ice Lance does 300% more damage to frozen targets again, on an 8-second cooldown shared with Fire Blast, and Ice Barrier now adds 15% Frost damage for a minute - plus 5% more while the shield holds. That is why Frost goes all the way down its tree now. Guides: Arcane, Fire and Frost.

Warlock

Affliction is the big winner. Wrack's spell damage coefficient doubled, and its base damage now grows with every level, to 86 per second at 60 (was 36); Improved Drains no longer raises it. Amplify Curse now works on Bane of Agony, Destruction's Shadow and Flame doubles to 4% per rank, Spellstones only raise Shadow damage, and pets get 2 Health per point of your Stamina instead of 7.5. Guides: Affliction, Demonology and Destruction.

Hunter

Marksmanship got the biggest buffs: Aimed Shot's bonus damage is up about 110%, Sniper Shot's bonus is up 100%, Arcane Shot does about 30% more base damage and now scales with 15% of your attack power, and Serpent Sting's base damage is up about 20%, with 5% of attack power per tick (was 3%). Barrage is now 5/10/15%, Trueshot Aura and Aspect of the Hawk give more ranged attack power at every rank, Survival's Lightning Reflexes is 3% Agility per rank, and all traps share one 30-second cooldown. Guides: Beast Mastery, Marksmanship and Survival.

Rogue

Every Rogue gets Shank at level 24: a 5-energy off-hand strike for 50% weapon damage on a 10-second cooldown that gives you 15 energy back (25 from rank 2 at level 44), and it can't miss. Poised, at 18, makes your opener 10 energy cheaper. Poisons now scale with attack power, Mutilate hits for 90% weapon damage, and Venom is now a passive that turns every Shank into 6 seconds of +30% poison damage. The trees were rebuilt: Murder, Quietus, Cutthroat, Thousand Cuts and Improved Distract are gone, while Blood Splatter, Composure, Flash of Steel, Quick Getaway, Boot Knife and the Subtlety finisher Death Mark are new. Death Mark isn't in our simulator yet, because the notes don't give its numbers. Guides: Assassination, Combat and Subtlety.

Shaman

Elemental lost Lava Burst. In its place, Call of Thunder adds 5% crit to Lightning Bolt and Chain Lightning. Lightning Overload now triggers 10/20/30% of the time (was 3/7/10%), and Elemental Mastery is renamed Lightning Mastery. Lightning Bolt's base damage went up at every rank - the top rank by 80% - and Chain Lightning is now a 2.5-second cast that hits for about 145% of a Lightning Bolt but costs about 225% of its mana. Shocks are back to their Classic damage. For Enhancement, Stormstrike now hits for 150% weapon damage on a 6-second cooldown, Maelstrom Weapon triggers twice as often, Flurry is 6% per rank and Mental Dexterity turns up to 150% of your Intellect into attack power. Riptide is now only a heal over time, on a 12-second cooldown, and costs about 40% less mana. Guides: Elemental, Enhancement and Restoration.

Druid

Feral lost Berserk, but Shred now hits for 200% weapon damage (was 155%), Claw for 140%, Ravage for 435%, and Rip, Rake, Ferocious Bite and Pounce do about 25% more. Druids also get Poised at 32, Rend and Tear is 3% per rank, Lacerate is now a Feral talent, and the tree has two 31-point choices: Primal Bite for bears and Shifting Power for cats. Balance's Starfire does about 40% more base damage, and Genesis and Naturalist doubled to 2% per rank. Restoration's Gift of the Earthmother is replaced by Bloom, which heals for 100% of your Spirit when a Rejuvenation or Regrowth runs its full duration, and Wild Growth now has a 3-second cast. Guides: Balance, Feral and Restoration.

Priest

Priests changed the least. Binding Heal is replaced by Holy Binding - when your Flash Heal heals someone else, it heals you for 50% of that too. Shadow Word: Death now hits you for 30% of your maximum health if it doesn't kill (it no longer hurts you when it misses), and Vampiric Embrace healing can't crit. Guides: Discipline, Holy and Shadow.

Paladin

Retribution lost Twist of Light. Its 31-point talent is now Unsealed Wrath: each swing stores a copy of your seal for 15 seconds, up to 3 times, and the first swing with a different seal gives every stored copy its normal chance to activate. Conviction is now up to 6% crit for spells and attacks, Two-Handed Weapon Specialization raises Holy damage too, and Champion of the Light turns up to 60% of your Intellect into spell damage. Holy gets Oath of Light, which makes your Holy Light, Flash of Light and Holy Shock heal one sworn ally for more, and Holy Power now raises your crit heals by up to 50%. Protection gets Shieldsworn (Holy Strike every 6 seconds), a 3-point Iron Creed and a stronger Righteous Fury. Salvation, Mass Salvation, Revoke and Blessing of Light are removed. Guides: Holy, Protection and Retribution.

Warrior

Fury gets Reckless Swings, a row-4 talent that costs 25% of your base health and makes your next 4 swings generate 5 extra rage. Flurry is now 3 points for 10/20/30% attack speed, and Improved Whirlwind takes up to 2 seconds off Whirlwind and adds 30% damage to the closest enemy. For Arms, Slam's cooldown drops to 15 seconds, Two-Handed Weapon Specialization goes to 6% and Bloodthrill is a 2-point talent. Defensive Stance now adds 80% threat (was 30%). Guides: Arms, Fury and Protection.

Racial changes in the final build

The racials were changed again. These change which race we rank best for many specs:

  • Dwarf: Earth Fury (2% critical damage and healing) is gone; Artisan's Precision adds 1% hit with spells and attacks.
  • Human: Ruthless is now 1% crit (was 2%), and The Human Spirit gives 10% Spirit (was 5%).
  • Orc: Savage (1% crit) is gone; Command is back, with 5% more pet damage for Warlocks and Hunters; Blood Fury's cooldown is now 2 minutes.
  • Skyborne: Wind-Blessed is now 2% haste (was 3%); Read Leyline and Skysight were reworked.
  • Tauren: Endurance is only 5% health now (no hit or critical damage); Plainsrunning gives 2% speed per stack.
  • Troll: Berserking lasts 15 seconds (was 10).
  • Undead: Touch of the Grave's cooldown is 15 seconds (was 25).

With Berserking lasting longer and Wind-Blessed down to 2%, Troll overtakes Skyborne as the best race for Arcane and Frost Mages and for Elemental and Enhancement Shamans in our level 60 raid sims. Orc stays on top for Beast Mastery Hunters and two of the three Warlock specs, now because of Command's pet damage, and Human stays on top for Retribution and Holy Paladins. Our best race articles for Mages, Warlocks, Hunters, Rogues, Priests, Warriors, Shamans, Paladins and Druids were written before this build, so trust the race shown on each spec ranking when the two disagree. Our racial changes article covers the earlier rounds.

The new WoW Forever spec rankings

We re-ran every damage and healing spec as every race it can be, with the new talents, spells and racials: 1,000 fights of 60 seconds against a level 63 boss, in each spec's own best-in-slot gear. Here is the level 60 top 10 in raid gear, with the change from our previous run before this build:

WoW Forever level 60 raid DPS rankings after the pre-launch build: Arcane Mage 640, Affliction Warlock 626, Beast Mastery Hunter 624, Shadow Priest 612, Marksmanship Hunter 587
Level 60 raid DPS in our simulator after the November 2 build, best race each.

Further down, the melee specs gained the most: Enhancement Shaman went from 404 to 554, Assassination Rogue from 423 to 546 and Combat Rogue from 413 to 508, while Elemental Shaman climbed from 367 to 483. Fire Mage slipped from 558 to 538 after the Critical Mass change. Feral Druid is still last among the damage specs at 321, even though it gained 33 DPS without Berserk.

Healers barely moved, except Holy Paladin: in raid gear Restoration Druid leads with 1,501 healing per second, ahead of Restoration Shaman (1,175), Holy Priest (1,016), Holy Paladin (806, up from 735 with Oath of Light and the new Holy Power) and Discipline Priest (746). Tanks: the Protection Warrior keeps more effective health than the Protection Paladin at every level we sim.

For leveling, level 30 matters more this week than level 60. Beast Mastery Hunter is first at level 30 (155 DPS), with Marksmanship Hunter (123) and Enhancement Shaman (122) now close behind, then Elemental Shaman (90) and Arcane Mage (89). The full lists for levels 30, 50 and 60, in dungeon and raid gear, are on the WoW Forever DPS rankings, and every number opens its own spec sim page with the gear, talents and damage breakdown behind it.

Our take: The final build narrows the gap between specs, and that matters more than who is first. The top nine specs are now within 90 DPS of each other in our raid sims, and the melee specs that looked weak a week ago - Enhancement, Assassination and Combat - are now fine choices. If you were holding off on a class because of an old tier list, check the new numbers first. Sims are a starting point, not a verdict: real fights involve movement, add phases and mistakes, and Blizzard plans a large tuning pass after launch.

Your last 24 hours: a pre-launch checklist

There isn't much left to do before the servers open, but these steps save time on launch night:

Sim your character on launch nightPaste your armory link or addon export and see your DPS, ability by ability, with the November 2 talents and racials.Open Sim DPS

How to use the sims on day one

Our sims work from level 1. Once you've played for a while, paste your armory link or your addon export into the WoW Forever rotation simulator: it reads your gear and talents, runs 1,000 fights and shows your damage spell by spell, plus the priority it played. The gear upgrade finder sims every item you could wear in each slot and tells you which ones raise your DPS or healing the most. If you want to know why we rank one spec above another, the sim FAQ explains every assumption, and our rotation simulator guide walks through the results page.

The talent trees, racials and spell values in our engines follow Blizzard's November 2 notes. Where the notes don't give a number - Death Mark's storage rate, for example, or how much Mutilate's flat damage went up - we say so on the spec's page and don't guess. If a number looks wrong once the servers are live, report it and we'll check it against the game.

After the WoW Forever launch: what comes next

Launch week is all about leveling. The level 60 raids - Barrow Deeps, Hyjal Summit and Onyxia's Lair - open on December 9, and Blizzard has also confirmed a revamped Molten Core for later. The Hardcore ruleset comes some time after launch, and the Battle for the Darkspear Islands battleground is open to players from level 30. New to WoW Forever? Start with what WoW Forever is, how its Legacy system works, and every race and class combination.
