GuideTiles for the twelve WoW Forever professions

Looking for WoW Forever profession bonuses? World of Warcraft Forever keeps all twelve classic professions - but adds camp features for every profession, Legacy talents for crafters and gatherers, and more than 600 new recipes. Here's what each profession gives you, what's confirmed and what's only a rumour, and the best profession for every class - including WoW Forever Tailoring, Engineering, Enchanting and Alchemy.

Twelve tiles for the WoW Forever professions: Alchemy, Blacksmithing, Enchanting, Engineering, Leatherworking, Tailoring, Herbalism, Mining, Skinning, Cooking, Fishing and First Aid
All twelve WoW Forever professions.

WoW Forever profession bonuses: what's confirmed

  • Camp features: every profession builds a camp feature that gives everyone sitting nearby an hour-long buff - Blizzard explained them in its camping guide, and our camping article lists all of them.
  • Legacy profession talents: the Professions tree of the Legacy system - for example Working Overtime (more skill-ups) and Bountiful Harvest (more Scarce materials).
  • New recipes: Gamer Guides counts more than 600 new recipes across the professions.

Rumoured passive profession perks

You may have seen lists of passive bonuses for gathering - 5% health for Mining, magic resistance for Herbalism, 5% damage to Beasts for Skinning. Blizzard hasn't confirmed these. A thread on Blizzard's forums on October 19 traced the list to an AI-generated post, and players replied that nothing in the beta showed them (Blizzard forums). Until Blizzard says so or they show up in the game files, treat them as rumours.

Camp feature for each profession

  • WoW Forever Alchemy: Mana Well (mana every 5 seconds).
  • Blacksmithing: Sharpening Wheel (Strength), later the Anvil and Master Forge.
  • WoW Forever Enchanting: Enchanted Lute (Armor).
  • WoW Forever Engineering: Reagent Bot - a vendor for class reagents, right at camp.
  • Leatherworking: Camp Tent (tops up rested experience).
  • WoW Forever Tailoring: Faction Banner (Spirit).
  • Herbalism: Incense Candle (Intellect). Mining: Lodestone (melee Attack Power). Skinning: Camp Chair (critical strike).
  • Cooking: the campfire itself. Fishing: Fish Bowl (all stats). First Aid: First Aid Kit (Stamina).

Biggest profession change: Healing Potions move to First Aid

In the WoW Forever game files, Healing Potions - from the basic one to Major Healing Potion - are now made with First Aid, not Alchemy, so any character can make their own. Alchemy gets new potions instead, such as the Discolored Healing Potion. Here's how many items each crafting profession can make in the current files:

Bar chart of items each WoW Forever profession can craft: Leatherworking 592, Blacksmithing 506, Tailoring 471, Engineering 272, Alchemy 193, Cooking 132, Enchanting 82, First Aid 32
Items each profession can craft, from the build 1.60.1.70532 game files.

Best profession for every class

These pairs from Gamer Guides are a solid starting point - they put gear-making and gathering on the same character:

  • Warrior, Paladin: Blacksmithing + Mining
  • Hunter, Rogue, Shaman, Druid: Leatherworking + Skinning
  • Priest, Mage, Warlock: Tailoring + Enchanting
  • Any class: Alchemy + Herbalism for consumables (popular with Rogues), and Engineering for gadgets and fun

Crafted gear is a big part of pre-raid gear in Forever: our Pre-Raid BiS lists show which crafted items are best for your spec, and the Professions pages list every recipe with its materials.

Our take: camp features make every profession matter in a group, so there's no "useless" profession any more. Pick what fits your gear first, then enjoy the camp - and don't build your plans on gathering perks Blizzard hasn't confirmed.
