About Forever Upgrades

What it does

Forever Upgrades answers the question every player asks after a dungeon run: is this item actually better? Instead of adding up stats by hand, it simulates your character fighting a boss, swaps in each item you could wear, and shows the difference as “+X DPS” over what you have equipped. Healers get healing per second, tanks get effective health.

• Sim DPS - your simulated DPS, HPS or effective health, with a breakdown per ability.
• BiS List - the best gear for every spec at levels 30, 40, 50 and 60.
• Talent calculator - plan a build and share it as a link.
• Professions - every recipe, its reagents and where to learn it, including camping.
• The addon - export your character from the game in one click.

How the numbers are made

Every spec has its own simulation, written for World of Warcraft: Forever: the rotation, spell ranks, mana, talents, procs, trinkets and set bonuses. The item, spell and talent data come straight from the game's data files, so the sims use the same values the game does.

• Each result is the average of 1,000 simulated fights against a raid boss three levels above you (63 at level 60), with its margin of error shown next to it.
• The same character and options always give the same result, so you can compare two items fairly.
• Effects that can't be simulated - mostly location-only or retail-only procs - are listed with every result as “not simulated”, rather than guessed.
• The spec rankings put every spec in its level 60 raid or dungeon BiS gear, and in the same standard gear at levels 50 and 30, so the comparison is fair.

Free, and no login

Everything on the site is free. There's no account, no login and no Battle.net API key: you paste a public armory link or an addon export, and that's it. We don't keep your character after your request is answered - see the privacy policy for the details.

A fan project

Forever Upgrades is made by players, for players. It isn't affiliated with, endorsed or approved by Blizzard Entertainment. The numbers are simulations: use them to compare choices, not as a promise of what your meter will say.
