Privacy policy

In short

• You don't need an account, a login or a Battle.net API key to use Forever Upgrades.
• We use the character you give us only to answer that request, and we don't keep it afterwards.
• The site sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics.
• Some choices, like saved talent builds, are kept in your own browser, not on our server.

What we use, and why

Characters you look up

When you paste an armory link, our server fetches that public armory page and reads the character's name, realm, level, class, spec, talents and gear. When you paste an addon export, we read the same details from the text. We use them only to run the simulation you asked for and show you the result. We don't save the character, the armory page, the export or the results once your request has been answered.

Saved character pages

If you upload a saved armory page instead of a link, it's read the same way and discarded after the request.

Messages you send us

If you email us, or use the contact or report forms (which open your own mail app), we receive your email address and what you write. We use it only to reply and to fix what you reported, and we don't share it.

Server logs

Like almost every website, our web server records basic technical details of each request - your IP address, the page or file requested, the time and your browser type - to keep the site running, find errors and protect it from abuse. These logs are kept for a short time and then deleted, and are not used to identify you.

What's kept in your browser

A few things are saved in your browser's own storage on your device, so they're there next time. They never leave your device unless you share a link yourself:

• Talent calculator: your current build, so it's there when you come back (it's also in the page link).
• BiS List: the spec, list and level you last picked.
• Handing over between pages: when you go from the home page or the Addon page to Find Upgrades or Sim DPS, your result or export is passed along for that browser tab only and cleared once it's used.

You can clear all of this at any time by clearing your browser's site data for foreverupgrades.com.

Cookies

Forever Upgrades itself sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking.

Advertising

The site doesn't show ads at the moment. If that changes, this section will explain which advertising partners we use, what cookies they set and how you can opt out, and we'll update the date at the top.

Other services

• Google Fonts - the heading font is loaded from Google's servers, which receive your IP address to deliver it. See Google's privacy policy.
• Blizzard's armory - when you paste an armory link, our server (not your browser) fetches that public page.
• Game icons are served from our own server, so your browser doesn't contact anyone else to show them.

Your choices and rights

Because we don't keep your characters or create accounts, there's usually nothing stored about you to view or delete. If you've emailed us and want that correspondence deleted, or you have any question about your data, write to support@foreverupgrades.com. Depending on where you live (for example in the EU, the UK, or California), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data, and we'll honour those requests.

Children

Forever Upgrades isn't aimed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Big changes - such as adding advertising or analytics - will be described here before they take effect.
